Is God real? The answer is yes. And He loves you.

Another title for God is Heavenly Father. We refer to Him as this because He is literally our Father, and we are His spirit children. He knows and loves all of us. We are all equal in His eyes, and all are worthy of His love. Because God created us, He knows our strengths, our weaknesses, our hopes, and our fears. His ultimate goal is our progression in this life, and for us to return to live with Him in the next life.

Heavenly Father knew we wouldn’t be perfect in our life on this earth. Fortunately, He is very patient, compassionate, and understanding as we make mistakes and sin. Even though these sins separate us from God, He mercifully allows us to repent and to return back to Him. No matter who we are or what we’ve done, God wants us to reach out to Him so that He can help us along the way. 

We are created after the image of God. We look like Him, and are all part of the same spiritual family. Heavenly Father created the earth for our progression, and everything on it for our joy and happiness. The scriptures say, “All things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator.” (Alma 30:44) As we look for God’s power and presence in our lives, we can see His hand across the world. He is closely involved in the details of our lives. 

How do I know God?

The best way to get to know someone is to spend time with them. Similarly, the best way to get to know God is to spend time with Him. As we pray to our Heavenly Father, study His words in the scriptures, and strive to follow His gospel, we can develop a deep and personal relationship with Him. We begin to understand His plan, see His hand in our lives, and feel His power sustaining us each day.
